MEET CONEJO VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Conejo Valley Unified School District  educates around 18,000 students in 18 elementary schools, six middle schools, five high schools, one adult school, and multiple early childhood programs. Most children attending CVUSD live in Thousand Oaks, but some also come from subsections of Newbury Park and the Ventura County section of Westlake Village.

Multiple institutions in Conejo Valley have achieved National Blue Ribbon and International Baccalaureate recognition. The district also features high test scores and proficiency rates, as well as specialized programs for its students.

AWARDS & RECOGNITIONS

 

GIFTED & TALENTED PROGRAMS

Conejo Valley's GATE program serves intellectually gifted students starting in elementary school. Children identified as gifted and talented gain access to a variety of additional classes and programs, including Lunch Lab, Fun Fridays, and Invention Convention. Gifted high school students also have the opportunity to participate in ACES (After Class Enrichment Series).

MAGNET & SPECIALITY SCHOOLS

Special enrollment opportunities are available to all CVUSD students. In addition to the district's two magnet schools, Conejo Valley offers an entrepreneurship academy, distance learning, transitional kindergarten, guided homeschool, and countless other programs designed to provide a customized learning experience.

 
 

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS

Conejo Valley's Career Pathways Program allows high school students to explore a plethora of career paths before graduation. Options include arts and media, IT, health sciences, engineering, education and early childhood services, business, construction, hospitality, energy, and manufacturing. 

SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS

PERSONALIZED & FLEXIBLE HOME SCHOOL

If your child seeks a more flexible and customizable education, SHINE Home School or Century Academy could be a great fit. Both schools offer blended learning models that allow for distance and in-person lessons, as well as Advanced Placement classes and dual enrollment programs at local colleges. 

ADULT SCHOOL

The Conejo Valley Adult School provides a pathway towards enrichment and the work force for students of all ages. In addition to GED testing, this one-of-a-kind institution also has certificate programs, SAT and ACT prep, and special classes for senior adults.

OUTDOOR SCHOOL

CVUSD's unique Outdoor School program blends traditional education with hands-on learning at Camp Ramah, which is located about an hour from Thousand Oaks. Sixth graders will get the opportunity to spend four days and three nights hiking, learning, and growing with their peers. All activities are supervised by naturalists, CVUSD teachers, and student volunteers.
